COVID Care

Dear Valued Clients of Masso Institute,

Thank you for your journey with us during this chaotic, trying COVID period. We appreciate your patience with our strict measures, helping to keep the latest variant at bay.

Help us keep everyone safe during your next visit…

Our number one aim is to protect our most vulnerable patients, and as you know, many of our Lymphoedema patients are cancer survivors (and a few are stage 4, or even end-stage patients). Their immune systems are weak, especially those with more severe conditions. Recently, we have even seen COVID-recovered patients who’ve developed cellulitis post-infection.

So I hope you will bear with my house rules and how rigorous we’ve had to be!

As a general rule, if you are sick with any form of cough, fever, sorethroat, runny nose you will need to postphone your appointment because you will be contra indicated for lymph therapy.

The rules detailed below are beyond our government’s measures due to the sensitive nature of those we care for. We ask you to please follow them when you visit our premises, otherwise we will regretfully have to turn you away. They help protect all of us; patients, therapists, families and carers alike.

As therapists, we come into close contact with multiple patients a day. We also serve onsite at several hospitals (making us a high contact point). If we are infected we would have to shut all our operations for 2 weeks—to confirm negative viral tests and ensure that we are clear of all symptoms—before coming back into contact with our patients.

We thank you for your understanding towards our social responsibilities.

Here are our latest requirements, effective until further notice (though they may be adapted in the future):

  1. Travellers need to be in Singapore for 3 days prior to your visit. You must also provide proof of a recent negative COVID-19 ART (Antigen Rapid Test) self test. Proof of a negative test (as close as possible to the appointment date) with a date and time stamp is required.

  2. Patients who are recovered need to provide a negative ART test and be symptom-free to visit our premise. Finishing the official isolation period (currently on Day 7 for vaccinated individuals) but testing positive will not be acceptable. Even though you are currently not required by the government to isolate any further, a positive test indicates high viral load in your body. This is potentially risk if you come into direct contact with someone who is immunocompromised. We are aware that some patients take up to 12 days to test negative (even though others may take only 4-5 days). Please help us to ensure a safe environment for our patients by providing proof of a negative test, with a date and time stamp, as close to the appointment date as possible.

  3. For patients with Long COVID symptoms (i.e. you've tested negative for more than 3 days, but are still coughing): you can still come for your appointment! We can help clear your symptoms, and speed up your recovery too.

  4. Patients who are living with someone with COVID should refer to the above rule no 2. As a close contact you could likely pass the virus along in an asymptomatic way, even if you test negative. Please come to the appointment when both you and your family test negative. Proof of a negative test (as close as possible to the appointment date) with a date and time stamp is required.

  5. If you have experienced any of the following sore throat, runny nose, cough, unusual shortness of breath, fever, or body aches, we ask that you please do not come to your appointment. Even though you might test negative, because you are contraindicated for MLD treatment. Please call us and we'll make arrangements for when you feel better.

  6. If you have been in close contact with anyone with a positive ART or PCR test result, please also do not come to your appointment. Please submit a negative test photo result at least on the 3rd day or after before your visit.

If you are in doubt about your symptoms, or any of the rules above, please feel free to contact our office at +65 9002 7937 for assistance; we're happy to help!

Thank you for your understanding in keeping our clinic operational and safe for all!
